Konak Meze Restaurant in Horsforth brings a slice of Turkey to Town Street with glowing lanterns, exposed stone, and a lively, golden-lit dining room that feels instantly welcoming. The menu is packed with classic meze – think creamy hummus, crisp sigara böreği, grilled halloumi and succulent lamb dishes – alongside hearty mains from the charcoal grill and slow-cooked casseroles inspired by Ottoman recipes. There are plenty of options for vegetarians, vegans and gluten-free diners, plus Turkish wines and cocktails to make an evening of it.

We are extremely delighted and proud to announce that we won Restaurant of the Year Award 2019 for Harrogate’s Hospitality and Tourism Awards. This means a lot to our team at Konak Meze. We pride ourselves on our service, food and attention to detail.
The Horsforth restaurant is the Leeds outpost of the Konak Meze story, which began in Harrogate back in 2013 when Turkish restaurateurs Firat Bulut and Osman Altuntaş opened their first Konak Meze — named after the Turkish word for a grand house and “home of appetisers”.
Building on the success of Harrogate, Konak Meze Leeds Ltd was incorporated in 2019 and established at 9–11 Town Street, Horsforth, bringing the same philosophy of generous hospitality, Ottoman-inspired dishes and modern presentation to a new crowd.
Today, the Horsforth branch continues that legacy: a locally run Turkish restaurant where the owners are still hands-on, the grill is always busy, and guests are encouraged to linger over shared plates and Turkish tea as if they were dining in a friend’s home.
